Talk about City and football / Last match of the season at Eastlands - Arsenal
« Last post by Eastlands on May 08, 2016, 01:29:48 pm »
This is now the most important match of the season if City are to be in the top four of the PL and we have not won against a top six throughout it. A win would take us to 3rd place on goal difference so there is every reason for the players to be motivated today
I am not really confident given recent results but we should win this one, shouldn't we?
City 3 - Arsenal 1  ::)

the attacks in the beginning
with navas looked very promising

unfortunately it all faded away
though it was to the last minute

So that's it for this season. No disgrace to been defeated by Real Madrid by just one goal over three hours of play and in the end, just one goal would have got us through on the away goals rule, City lost their captain (again) after nine minutes and didn't have the thrust needed to get the one away goal required to be in the final
Only one target left and that's a top four position in the Premier League, so we need to win against Arsenal at Eastlands this weekend. Don't forget that City still have not won against a top six side this season so it's by no means a certainty

with that stsrtong line up,
hopefully we hold tight,
run them down and bring on our speed
(iheanacho and sterling)
to finish it off

misding silva is big, however
it goves debruyne his favoured responsibility.
hopefully yaya puts in an encouraged performance

Well this is it, tonight is City's first chance to reach the final of the Champions League. One thing is certain, in that if we do, we won't be meeting Peps team Bayern Munich who went out to Atletico Madrid last night
No prediction this time because I have no idea how we could possibly beat Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu stadium, but I will be both surprised and delighted if we do  ::)

Real Madrid: Navas; Carvajal, Ramos, Pepe, Marcelo; Kroos, Modric, Isco; Bale, Jese, Ronaldo

Subs: Casilla, Varane, James, Kovacic, Vazquez, Danilo, Mayoral

Manchester City: Hart; Sagna, Kompany, Otamendi, Clichy; Fernando, Fernandinho; Navas, Toure, De Bruyne; Aguero

Subs: Caballero, Mangala, Kolarov, Delph, Sterling, Bony, Iheanacho

Referee: Skomina [SLO]

other than iheanacho,
woeful and sad....
i thought maybe the patient approach coukd work,
hmmm...was i deluded

it appeared as a second string team
playing their last match,
not just for the season,
but probably club

zabaleta was putting in effort
and he, hopefully, still has a part with us,
however, his great years of service
has ground him down

the present squad, consisting of so many winners
and members who have changed
us from relegation delegates,
to european contenders, to champions,
will be legends and we have there memories

unfortunately, we are one of the oldest squad
in the premier league and many of them
will be going away
some did well, some didnt work out

watching the champions league
betweeb atletico and bayern
there were boateng and savic,
two of our old players playing well,
i hope we meet savic in the final

Southampton: Forster; Martina, Fonte, Van Dijk, Bertrand; Davis, Wanyama, Clasie; Mane, Long, Tadic
Subs: Stekelenburg, Cedric, Yoshida, Rodriguez, Romeu, Ward-Prowse, Austin

Manchester City: Hart; Zabaleta, Otamendi, Mangala, Kolarov; Nasri, Fernandinho, Delph, Sterling; Bony Iheanacho
Subs: Caballero, Sagna, Clichy, Demichelis, Fernando, Navas, Aguero

A win today takes City back to 3rd above the Arsenal and seven points above the Reds. I wonder if Bony can step up to the plate today and earn some of his signing fee, don't hold your breath
Soton 0 - City 2  ::)
