Here I am responding to my own topic on the first match of the season

I was about to comment on last nights game when I realised that in fact, I am replying to myself and nobody else is interested or cannot be bothered to look on this site any more, so there is no point in doing so

I will now have to seek a new site to share my interest in Manchester City FC

 :(

So tonight at 5.30pm Pep will be intrduced to the City faithful and the expectation has been raised once again for the new season
Both Moyes (at Everton) and Sunderland have in previous years been a problem to City, I don't think that they should be too difficult to beat at Eastlands tonight. It may take some settling in with the new players, some of which will not start in this first match but I still expect a respectable win for the Blues
City 3 - Sunderland 1 ;)

Not sure what to make of this performance against Arsenal. Defence is still the main problem and Joe does not instill confidence at all. I think that he will be replaced sometime very soon
It's hard to see how the bookies still have us a favourites for the EPL title and the Champions League qualifier looms large. Maybe they know something we don't

Yep, Pep has got things going nicely but don't forget, Mourinho and the other EPL rivals are all doing the same so this is going to be an interesting and exiting season
Just recieved my new City Season Card and ready for the first match against Sunderland (and Moyes). Pity it has to be at 5.30pm on a Saturday but that's the price of supporting a top ranked club

Bring it on  ;D

p.s. I'm afraid that it may be that we have very little content on this site this season, which is a pity given the great support we used to get  :(

England 2 v Wales 1
A poor effort from the ManCity contingency in the first half with Sterling missing a sitter from his only real chance to score and Joe Hart conceding a goal from a 35 yard free kick, albeit from Gareth Bale but he should have really saved it from that distance
Thankfully, a last minute goal from ex City player Daniel Sturridge saved the day for England after the equaliser from Vardy

Italy looked good against a very good-looking Belgium side (on paper)

Iceland 2 - England 1 - 27th May 2016
Joe and Raheem made scapegoats for Englands performance but they were no worsr that the rest and we have to admit that Iceland deserved the win. England were embarrasing

Would Pep want him?

So City make it to 4th place in the Premier league, which means that they enter the qualifying stage to be in next seasons Champions League, if they in fact do qualify
After a good start scoring the first goal through Kelechi, Swansea equalised in added time just before the break via a clever free kick which deflected off a City player leaving Joe stranded
The second half was a goalless nailbiter throughout as the Swans kept the Blues out whilst always threatening to score themselves. So United now, due to their game being cancelled, have to play out their Premier League season knowing that even a win will leave them short on goal difference

Bye,bye Manuel Pellegrini - Hello Pep Guadiola

Swansea City
Nordfeldt, Rangel, Fernandez, Amat, Kingsley, Britton (capt), Cork, Fer, Routledge, Montero, Ayew

Bench: Vickers, Naughton, Fulton, Gorre, Barrow, Emnes. Gomis

Manchester City
Hart (capt), Sagna, Otamendi, Mangala, Clichy, Fernando, Fernandinho, Navas, De Bruyne, Iheanacho, Aguero

Bench: Caballero, Sterling, Kolarov, Demichelis, Nasri, Toure, Bony

This is the same team that although could only draw against the Arsenal at Eastlands last Sunday, played very well. I hope Bony stays on the bench except for a token late chance to be greeted by the fans of his old club when City have secured the required fourth place  ::)

Swans 1 - City 3

I can hardly believe that, thanks to the 'Hammers' win against the Red's, the top four Premier League place is back in City's own hands. Just a draw at Swansea will see us through on goal difference even if United beat Bournmouth at the swamp on Sunday, which they probably will
The Swans have only won eight of their home games this season, drawing five and losing five, but they did give West Ham a 4-1 hammering away last weekend so there is the warning for City to heed
Surely they can't mess this one up  ::)

Our high expectations have made this a poor season by the standards City fans aspire to and I have to admit this comment includes myself. I left Eastlands at the end of the game not staying for the traditional lap of honour or for Pellegrini's farwell speach.
I felt more dissapointed travelling home on Sunday than I have all season. This is because the score left City out of control of their own destiny in acheiving a top four position after having been there throughout. Now we have to rely on others to do the job for us and I am not at all confident this will happen
Worst senario is that the Reds will win the FA Cup and beat us to forth place >:(

11
This is now the most important match of the season if City are to be in the top four of the PL and we have not won against a top six throughout it. A win would take us to 3rd place on goal difference so there is every reason for the players to be motivated today
I am not really confident given recent results but we should win this one, shouldn't we?
City 3 - Arsenal 1  ::)

So that's it for this season. No disgrace to been defeated by Real Madrid by just one goal over three hours of play and in the end, just one goal would have got us through on the away goals rule, City lost their captain (again) after nine minutes and didn't have the thrust needed to get the one away goal required to be in the final
Only one target left and that's a top four position in the Premier League, so we need to win against Arsenal at Eastlands this weekend. Don't forget that City still have not won against a top six side this season so it's by no means a certainty

Well this is it, tonight is City's first chance to reach the final of the Champions League. One thing is certain, in that if we do, we won't be meeting Peps team Bayern Munich who went out to Atletico Madrid last night
No prediction this time because I have no idea how we could possibly beat Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu stadium, but I will be both surprised and delighted if we do  ::)

Real Madrid: Navas; Carvajal, Ramos, Pepe, Marcelo; Kroos, Modric, Isco; Bale, Jese, Ronaldo

Subs: Casilla, Varane, James, Kovacic, Vazquez, Danilo, Mayoral

Manchester City: Hart; Sagna, Kompany, Otamendi, Clichy; Fernando, Fernandinho; Navas, Toure, De Bruyne; Aguero

Subs: Caballero, Mangala, Kolarov, Delph, Sterling, Bony, Iheanacho

Referee: Skomina [SLO]

Talk about City and football / Southampton

Southampton: Forster; Martina, Fonte, Van Dijk, Bertrand; Davis, Wanyama, Clasie; Mane, Long, Tadic
Subs: Stekelenburg, Cedric, Yoshida, Rodriguez, Romeu, Ward-Prowse, Austin

Manchester City: Hart; Zabaleta, Otamendi, Mangala, Kolarov; Nasri, Fernandinho, Delph, Sterling; Bony Iheanacho
Subs: Caballero, Sagna, Clichy, Demichelis, Fernando, Navas, Aguero

A win today takes City back to 3rd above the Arsenal and seven points above the Reds. I wonder if Bony can step up to the plate today and earn some of his signing fee, don't hold your breath
Soton 0 - City 2  ::)
